About Nova
I hold a Bachelor of Music in String Studies and a Master of Music in Violin Performance. For the past 4 years, I have worked with students seeking to strengthen technique, rebuild confidence, and deepen their connection to music. My interest in violin began through early performance experiences and continued through advanced study. Teaching provides an opportunity to share that passion while supporting learners as they achieve meaningful goals. Helping students discover their abilities remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession.
My teaching approach is built on patience, encouragement, and individual attention. I recognize that each student learns differently, so lessons are tailored to reflect personal strengths and challenges. Technical development is balanced with musical expression to create a complete learning experience. Students receive clear guidance and practical strategies that support lasting improvement. This helps build confidence while maintaining enjoyment.
Outside teaching, I enjoy performing chamber music, studying violin repertoire, and exploring educational approaches that support effective learning. These interests allow me to bring fresh ideas into lessons. Watching students develop confidence and independence is deeply fulfilling. I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment. My goal is to help learners build skills that enrich their musical lives for years to come.

My violin lessons focus on helping students build strong technical foundations while developing confidence and enjoyment in their playing. Learners work on bow control, intonation, rhythm accuracy, posture, tone production, and expressive phrasing through carefully structured activities. I believe progress happens most effectively when students understand the purpose behind each exercise. Lessons combine technical training with musical exploration, allowing learners to build skills that support both performance and personal expression. This creates a balanced and rewarding learning experience.
Every lesson is adapted to suit the learner’s experience level and goals. Students rebuilding confidence after a break receive patient guidance through open-string exercises, slow scale work, tone recovery activities, and confidence-building repertoire. Learners interested in performance preparation develop stage readiness, interpretation skills, and effective practice habits. Activities also include ear training, rhythm exercises, and musical analysis that strengthen overall musicianship. Personalized feedback supports consistent progress and encourages self-belief.
My goal is to help students feel comfortable and capable when they play. As technical abilities improve, learners often become more motivated to explore new music and challenge themselves creatively. Lessons encourage patience, persistence, and personal growth. Every achievement contributes to greater confidence and musical understanding. I want students to enjoy the journey as much as the results.
