About Arianna
Arianna Behrendt is al Russian-American violinist from Bay Area, California. She previously studied with David Chernyavsky, member of the San Francisco Symphony, and currently studies with well-known pedagogue, Isaac Malkin at the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
Making her Carnegie hall debut at the age of 10, she performed as a soloist with the Sunset Youth Orchestra. Since then, Arianna has played in many different ensembles including the Golden State Youth Orchestra, San Francisco Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Village Verein. She has held varying leadership positions including a principal position in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra at Interlochen Arts Camp and Young Artists Orchestra at the Eastern Music Festival, where she also served as concertmaster. She has worked with world-class conductors including Rodrick Cox, Gerard Schwartz, Tito Muños, Jose-Luis Novo, Daniel Stewart, Grant Cooper, Leonard Slatkin, George Manahan, and Christian Marcerulo.
Arianna graduated High School as a winner of the National School Orchestra Award, and recipient of the Einarsson Music Scholarship for her dedication to music. She has a well rounded musical education, having developed strong musicianship and a good understanding of music theory.
In addition to her orchestral background, Arianna loves theater. She has appeared on stage in Mamma Mia, Singing in the Rain, Matilda, Little Women, and Legally Blonde, and many more. Since leaving the stage, she has continued to play in pits for shows including Newsies, the Little Mermaid, and Shrek.

I offer violin lessons/tutoring sessions for students ages 9-18! (30, 45, and 60 minute sessions over zoom)
In violin lessons, we will:
- develop technique
- discuss effective practicing and performance techniques
- study standard repertoire/anything your student may already be playing
- discuss playing style
- talk about performance anxiety and managing stress
I also offer ear training sessions for students ages 9-18! I recommend these sessions for students looking to develop their musicianship. This is great if your students wants a jump start to the more complex and underlying fundamentals of being a musician.
(Recommended for singers and instrumentalists)
In ear training sessions, we will:
- go over/learn simple and complex rhythms
- learn how to do a dictation
- learn to identify different tonal qualities in music
- identify different composers/styles
Orchestral Audition Preparation for students ages 9-18 auditioning for school or youth/pre-professional orchestras:
In these sessions, we will:
- learn how to prepare a good audition
- discuss excerpts in a musical context
- discuss what the panel is looking for in each excerpt
- do a mock audition with provided feedback
