About Victor

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have tutored at Oxford and Cambridge universities and was a professor at several Canadian universities and have taught English online for ten years internationally. I was Director of a program in socioeconomic development in a School of Management and Director of an independent research institute on the same subject. Not relevant for online tutorials.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

Former member of various University teacher organisations in the UK, Canada and the USA (now retired).

- Tell me about some of your current students.

A large percentage are from Russia. Eastern Europe and Western Europe ( including the UK). Some are from Japan, China, the Arab countries, the USA, Mexico and Central and South America. About 40% are preparing for IELTS or TOEFL or GMAT orEthe Cambridge certificates or OET in order to gain access to English speaking universities or to emigrate to English speaking countries. About 40% are in business - mainly software development, banking, international corporations, and project management. The remainder are trying to refine their English to a very high level for their own personal satisfaction.

About the lesson

Improve the English of your dissertation or presentation online through Skype in the comfort and convenience of your own home or office in any country, city or village in the world. I am accustomed to working with both students and professionals from the pre-college to the post-doctoral levels and also with business and professional people from every sector and industry.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I am familiar with a wide-range of academic, professional and business topics.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a D.Phil (Ph. D) and a B.Litt from Oxford University and a B.A. from London University- I have taught at Oxford and Cambrige and several Canadian universities. I am familiar with the vocabulary methodology and requirements of several academic and business disciplines. I am a writer. See my recent novel on Amazon: EAGLECHILD

- How much do you charge?

I charge £25 for a fifty-minute sessions either online or when I am drafting or correcting the client's manuscripts. Payments can be made in Pounds Sterling or USD equivalents. Group sessions would be less, per person, depending on the number in the group. I could also negotiate a lower rate if the project requires extensive hours.

- Where do you teach?

I work exclusively online. I use Skype, ooVoo, Google and other audio video conference facilities.

- When are you available?

I negotiate an agreement with my client about a convenient time for online session in their particular international time zone.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

All ages from pre-college to post-Doctoral levels-

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I help students prepare their undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate thesis; business people prepare presentations; speakers prepare scripts and authors prepare manuscripts.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I use Skype with ooVoo, Google and other services as a back-up.

The times of sessions are negotiated with the client according to their international time zone. Clients may cancel a session without charge by email 24 hours before the scheduled time.

The sessions are individual with one client (although in special cases, at the request of the client, they can be shared). My work is designed to meet the specific objectives of the individual client.

Payment in advance is by PayPal, Credit or Debit card, Western Union, Transferwire or other direct bank transfer.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I believe working online with a tutor is the most efficient and effective way of improving your written and spoken English. If you are not sure about that, ask me for a free trial session to discuss your particular project.
