About Yujin

As a native Korean, I find great joy and fulfilment in teaching Korean to non-native speakers. Watching the growing influence of K-pop and Korean culture worldwide, I feel immense pride when I hear foreigners enthusiastically speak a few Korean words. It’s even more rewarding when they express a desire to learn more, and I always strive to give my best as their teacher.

I’ve decided to offer private lessons because I’m confident there are many beyond the University of Birmingham who are eager to learn Korean. My goal is to share not just the language but also the rich culture and history that make it so unique.

About the lesson

As a native Korean speaker who completed all high school courses in Korea, I bring an in-depth understanding of the language and culture to my lessons. Currently, I am currently serving as the Vice President and Korean Lesson Coordinator at the University of Birmingham's Korea Society, where I have honed my skills in teaching Korean from beginners to advanced learners.

[My Teaching Approach]
I tailor my lessons to meet each student’s needs, whether starting with Hangul (Korean alphabet) or delving into complex grammar and conversational skills. My methodology emphasizes structured learning with engaging activities to ensure students build confidence and enjoy the process. I provide well-organized materials, adapted for different levels, drawing from my experience teaching Korean to diverse learners.

Length: Lessons are flexible, ranging from 1 to 2 hours, depending on your preference and goals.
Who Can Join: Beginners to advanced learners of all ages are welcome. Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to refine your skills, I can help.
Experience:
In addition to my role at the Korea Society, I have over a year of tutoring experience as a math tutor in Korea, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
My students have ranged from beginners to intermediate and advanced learners, so I already have lesson materials prepared to suit all levels.
