About Erin
I have 16 years of experience teaching high school English. I am a certified literacy specialist, and I have worked with students with dyslexia, severe ADHD, scotopic sensitivity, and many other reading challenges. I work with English Language Learners with success. I teach AP classes, for over 7 years now, and my pass rate is over 70 percent. All the students who take my ACT workshops show increased scores in English and Reading. Most students in my classes do, as well. Students seek me out to help with writing, in particular.

My lessons are tailored to your specific needs. I listen to your concerns and your struggles. I am clear and direct in my teaching, but very nurturing in my support of your growth. I will give specific feedback, I will walk you through how to address the issue(s) with your work. I will provide engaging examples and step-by-step processes. I will also provide formulas and structures for writing. We can work on everything from spelling and grammar to stylistic choices and how to break the rules for the right reasons. I can help you prepare for AP English exams, or the English and Reading sections of the ACT. I will always use your needs and goals to structure everything we work on together.
