About Alexis
I am a current elementary third grade teacher. I have been teaching for the past eight years and I use the strategies and lesson that'll be taught to your child on a daily basis. I have seen great success throughout my years of teaching. My students show consistent success and a great deal of growth at the end of the year on testing.
I believe that all students are readers. It is important to build that confidence and love for reading to ensure that that the child feels that same success each and every time they read a book.

My lessons are geared to the struggling 1st-3rd grade reader. The purpose of these lesson is to build the confidence and love of reading so that the student soars in a regular classroom setting. A typical plan will focus on accuracy, fluency, and comprehension of grade level texts for exposure and on level texts to assist in building that confidence. Other lessons will include help with phonics to build the phonemic awareness that students to to read accurately. Depending on the student's need, the lesson will look a little different, but it will be just what they need.
