About Lydie

I am a passionate and dedicated violin tutor with 6 years of experience in teaching and professional music work. Music education has played a very important role in my life, and I strongly believe that learning the violin helps students build confidence, discipline, patience, and emotional expression.

Over the years, I have taught violin to school and college students from different backgrounds and learning levels. One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been guiding students who started with no musical experience and later became confident performers through consistent practice and encouragement.

My teaching approach focuses on building strong foundations, including correct posture, finger placement, bow control, rhythm, and tone quality. I also help students understand musical expression so they can play with feeling and confidence, not just technique.

I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to match each student’s pace, goals, and learning style. I create a supportive and positive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Teaching violin is more than a profession for me; it is my way of inspiring students to enjoy learning, believe in themselves, and develop a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

My violin teaching methodology emphasises motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, focusing on developing independent, confident, and expressive musicians. I aim to create lessons that are engaging, structured, and tailored to the student’s unique goals and abilities.

Motivation is key in my lessons. I encourage students to set personal goals, track progress, and celebrate achievements, helping them stay inspired and confident. Communication creates a collaborative learning environment where questions, challenges, and ideas are openly discussed.

I incorporate creativity through improvisation, interpretation, and composition exercises, encouraging students to explore musical ideas and develop their personal style. Integrity ensures that students practise diligently, respect their craft, and approach learning with discipline, responsibility, and focus.

In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano skills, supporting a well-rounded musical education. This methodology develops technically proficient, expressive, and confident musicians who enjoy playing and performing while building a lifelong love of music.
