About Suzanne
I haven't always taught the piano but I have always played it.
If you're new to music, are thinking of returning to it or are looking for a teacher who's had some real life experience (and knows what it's like to sit exams as an adult!) then I'm your teacher.
I trained & qualified as a Chartered Accountant before pivoting and monetising my piano hobby in 2015 when I also completed my ABRSM grades & then the diploma (with distinction).
My analytical background means I'm great at breaking down a piece of music, adapting it if necessary and making it easier for you to learn. Some of my pupils sit grades, some just want to play for pleasure and some are looking for a gentle approach to learning the basics, without pressure to tick boxes.

Hi. So, you'd like to learn the piano? An excellent choice!
I take a versatile & flexible approach and my 10 years of piano teaching experience has helped hundreds of pupils learn and love their piano journey.
I'm classically trained and have my ABRSM piano Diploma (ARSM) but am equally at home with pop, show tunes and jazz.
I teach from complete beginners up to around a grade 6 level (ABRSM) but if grades aren't your thing, I'll equip you with the tools you need to read music, play using chords and work out rhythms. I teach pupils from age 6 to whatever age they happen to be!
You can also do your ABRSM music theory grades with me - grade 5 theory is required to sit practical exams for grade 6 & above.
You'll learn on my beautiful baby grand piano at my home in Worcestershire and lessons are 30 mins or an hour, depending on your needs.

Details
I offer a Duke of Edinburgh discount bundle of lessons as part of the skills section. 10% off the usual rate for a fixed number of lessons to suit the bronze, silver or gold D of E levels.
I also offer one-off lessons if there's something specific you'd like to learn. No obligation to continue, at a mutually convenient time. Currently £40 per hour (2026 rates)
