About Eesa

I have found in recent years how rewarding and enjoyable teaching can be. Working in AE Tuition for 2+ years has enabled me to develop my ability to communicate and effectively teach children, while maintaining a positive working relationship with both the parent and child. While doing well at school: with A's and A*s in science, maths and english at both GCSEs and A-level, I was able to use what I had learnt to help my peers who did not quite understand the topics at hand. Working in a primary school environment for a week, where I assisted a year 5 class, helping them understand topics within science, english and maths, allowed me to get a more in-depth perspective on what it takes to properly teach and manage a class. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, both myself and the class wanted me to stay for longer and it was after this week where my passion for teaching really showed. I also take interest in computers and gaming, which has meant over the years I have become very comfortable using online resources such as Youtube, Skype and Zoom, all of which would help me as a tutor during this current pandemic. It has also meant I am able to keep in constant contact with people and hence any help students may need can be immediately dealt with. I am currently studying BSc in Geography at University of Bristol and this is where I am based, happy to teach anyone local as I will need use public transport to get around.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I feel it is of great importance to not only teach the student the content but build a strong and positive relationship in the process. This allows for more effective and efficient lessons, in which both the teacher (myself) and the student will definitely gain from. In terms of teaching, it is very much focused on going through the specification of the given subject and exam board, following a text book as guidance while using my own knowledge to help explain the given topic. It helps that I have recently finished school and am up to date with current specifications, allowing me to use my own personal struggles and accomplishments to help develop a specific way of learning that maximises the students potential and best sets them up for the summer exams. Every student digests knowledge in a different way and it is about finding out what is best for them, in order for them to improve and achieve top marks in exams.
