About Julia
My teaching approach centers on rhythm as the foundation of expressive and confident singing. I help students develop timing, energy, and groove through rhythm-based exercises that make the pulse of music tangible.
We explore key concepts like syncopation, beat subdivision, and rhythmic phrasing, applying them to genres such as gospel, funk, and jazz. These techniques allow singers to feel music from the inside out.
For learners who connect through movement, I incorporate body percussion, clapping patterns, and stepping exercises to internalize beats while singing. Those who use singing as emotional expression are encouraged to channel energy and feelings into rhythmic performance. Creative instincts are nurtured through improvisation, call-and-response exercises, and playful exploration of groove.

With over 6 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice, I specialize in creating joyful group singing experiences for families. My classes welcome parent-child duets, sibling trios, and all kinds of family vocal teams. We explore partner harmonies, engaging call-and-response exercises, and fun sing-along games that make learning music exciting.
Our repertoire includes beloved genres such as Disney, Gospel, Musical Theater, and classic Singalong favorites. These styles encourage expression, confidence, and creativity while keeping every session lively and enjoyable. I focus on fostering teamwork, listening skills, and shared musical growth.
