About Grace
My teaching approach uses rhythm-based techniques to help students improve timing, energy, and groove in their singing. Rhythm is the heartbeat of music, and I show students how to feel it in their body before they even sing a note. We work with clapping, stepping, and vocal exercises that build a strong internal pulse. I teach concepts like syncopation, beat subdivision, and rhythmic phrasing in styles such as gospel, funk, and jazz. These tools help students sing with more intention, flow, and connection to the music. Whether you're singing a soulful ballad or an upbeat groove, rhythm can unlock your voice’s natural energy. For students who learn best through movement, creative play, or emotional connection, I provide a space where they can explore freely. We might improvise over loops, play with phrasing like an instrument, or respond to a beat with instinct rather than overthinking. This helps build musical confidence from the inside out.
