About Leo

My teaching approach uses rhythm-based techniques to help students improve timing, energy, and groove in their singing. Rhythm is the heartbeat of music, and I show students how to feel it in their body before they even sing a note. We work with clapping, stepping, and vocal exercises that build a strong internal pulse. I teach concepts like syncopation, beat subdivision, and rhythmic phrasing in styles such as gospel, funk, and jazz. These tools help students sing with more intention, flow, and connection to the music. Whether you're singing a soulful ballad or an upbeat groove, rhythm can unlock your voice’s natural energy. For students who learn best through movement, creative play, or emotional connection, I provide a space where they can explore freely. We might improvise over loops, play with phrasing like an instrument, or respond to a beat with instinct rather than overthinking. This helps build musical confidence from the inside out. I adapt to each student’s learning style and musical background, turning rhythmic challenges into expressive tools. Together, we create a learning experience that feels alive, dynamic, and fun. Singing becomes more than hitting the right notes—it becomes a full-body, creative experience.

I'm a singer, songwriter, and vocal coach with over 8 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Singing. I specialize in working with emerging and independent singer-songwriters who are ready to refine their craft and develop their own sound. Whether you're exploring Indie Folk, Electro-Pop, Acoustic Soul, or Lo-Fi, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

My lessons go beyond technique—we dive deep into vocal phrasing, emotional delivery, and connecting with your lyrics. I offer guidance on lyric editing to help you say exactly what you mean, with impact and clarity. We’ll also explore harmony layering to add richness and texture to your music.

If you’re recording from home, I’ll share practical tips to help you get the best vocal takes in your own space. My approach is personal and creative, tailored to your goals and style. I believe your voice should feel like home, and your songs should sound like you.
