About Dylan
I have been teaching singing for over 24 years, and when I first started, I taught just like most other vocal coaches. The results were good—but they didn’t produce singers who sounded truly world class. So I began asking myself what was missing.
Over time, I discovered something very simple:
The key to singing is emotion.
We sing to express emotion. If you are doing scales or singing without focusing on emotion, you will never create the sound—or the connection with your audience—that you are capable of.
The amazing thing is that when you sing with real emotion, the body naturally begins to organize itself in the right way for singing—once you understand the correct sensations involved. I call this Singer’s Awareness.
And that is what I teach.
Every exercise I give you is designed to help you build the correct awareness of your voice. Once this awareness is in place, it becomes much more obvious what your voice needs to do naturally and reliably.
This is when singing starts to feel easier, more expressive, and more confident.

There is a right way to learn singing—and a wrong way.
Most singers are taught breathing, resonance, vocal folds, and articulation first. But without Singer’s Awareness, none of these sensations are processed correctly. That’s why so many singers feel stuck, limited, or unsure if they’re doing things properly.
For over 24 years, I’ve helped singers rebuild their voices from the foundation up by teaching the missing step that almost nobody is shown.
Singer’s Awareness must come first and I teach this along with emotional triggers. Once I explain all this to you in your first lesson with me singing will all make sense to you and you will wish that you had learned this sooner.
Once this foundation is in place:
• Range improves naturally
• Pitch stabilizes
• Tone becomes clearer
• High notes feel easier
• Emotion becomes available
• Confidence increases
• Your voice starts to stand out
After this awareness is built, everything else you learn starts working properly and making sense in a way that you can actually use as a singer.
