About Me & My Philosophy
Hello! My name is Andrew, and I'm a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto with over a decade of experience as an English and intercultural trainer. I've had the pleasure of teaching a wide range of students, from young children in Munich to corporate clients at major companies. My passion is creating a learning environment that is not only effective but also genuinely inspiring, empowering, and fun. Learning is a community effort, rooted in storytelling and connecting what we learn to our own lived experiences.
My Teaching Approach
My lessons are designed to be dynamic, engaging, and tailored specifically to each student's interests and needs.
Forget boring drills and rote memorization. I employ a range of active learning strategies, including storytelling, discussions, and creative media, to bring English to life. My goal is to create a space of trust where students feel confident expressing themselves, asking questions, and growing. I focus on boosting confidence first, as I've found it to be the most essential key to unlocking a student's potential.
What I Offer:
One-on-One & Group Lessons: For children, teenagers, and adults.
Skill Focus: In-depth support with grammar, reading comprehension, and essay composition. We can also explore English literature, build vocabulary, and enhance conversational fluency.
Confidence Building: Specialized focus on helping students overcome shyness and feel comfortable speaking.
Personalized Content: Lessons are adapted to individual interests and learning styles.
Let's work together not just to improve grades, but to build a foundation for lifelong curiosity and effective communication.
