About Samara

Hi! I’m a passionate and patient tutor who believes that learning should feel empowering—not overwhelming. I specialize in tutoring math from the basics up to Grade 10, and I love helping students build a solid understanding of concepts in a way that makes sense to them. Whether you’re preparing for a test or trying to boost your confidence, I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you get to where you want to be. Outside of academics, I’m also a drummer with over a decade of experience. I’ve been playing since I was 10 years old and now teach beginner to intermediate students how to master rudiments, play songs, and develop their own style. I bring the same encouraging and flexible approach to music as I do to tutoring. My goal is to create a comfortable learning space where you can ask questions, make progress, and enjoy the process.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on building confidence and curiosity in my students. For math (from beginner to Grade 10), I prioritize understanding over memorization. I break down complex concepts into simple, digestible parts using real-life examples and step-by-step methods. Each lesson begins with a short review, followed by guided problem-solving, practice, and reflection. I adjust my pace based on your needs and ensure that we build a strong foundation before moving forward.

What sets me apart is my patient, encouraging approach and my ability to make math feel accessible—even enjoyable. Whether you’re struggling with algebra or preparing for a test, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

In addition to math, I also teach beginner to intermediate drumming. I’ve been playing since I was 10, and my lessons focus on rhythm, technique, and song-based learning. We’ll cover rudiments, reading basic notation, and playing along with your favorite songs. Whether you’re just starting out or want to improve your skills, I’ll help you develop solid habits and have fun with the instrument.
