About Manya

Hi! My name is Manya, and I am a Behavioral Neuroscience student at Simon Fraser University with a passion for helping students grow academically and build confidence in their abilities. I have experience working with children and youth through volunteer leadership, childcare, and community involvement, which has strengthened my communication, patience, and mentoring skills.

I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. Whether a student needs help improving their English skills or arithmetic in Math, building confidence in writing, or staying organized with schoolwork, I strive to make lessons engaging, personalized, and productive.

I am dependable, approachable, and committed to helping students feel more confident and successful in their learning journey.

About the lesson

My approach as an English tutor is patient, supportive, and personalized to each student’s learning style and goals. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.

My teaching methodology focuses on building strong foundational skills while keeping lessons engaging and interactive. I break down concepts clearly, provide examples, and encourage students to actively participate rather than simply memorize information. I also adapt my teaching pace depending on the students’ strengths and areas for improvement.

A typical lesson may include reviewing previous material, introducing a new concept, practicing through guided exercises or discussions, and ending with feedback and strategies for improvement. For writing-focused lessons, I help students improve grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, essay organization, and critical thinking skills.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my supportive communication style and ability to connect with students in a positive and encouraging way. As a Behavioral Neuroscience student at Simon Fraser University, I understand the importance of patience, motivation, and adapting learning techniques to different individuals.
