Kia ora I'm Amy, a 20-year-old University of Canterbury student in my second year studying Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Primary). I am offering in-person tutoring for children in Years 1–6 in the Papanui, Redwood, Casebrook, Northwood, St Albans, Bishopdale, and Bryndwr areas, but am open to other areas as well. I support children with: Reading, writing, handwriting and fine-motor confidence, learning support / building foundation skills, and general homework help. My approach is warm, calm and child-centered. I tailor learning to each child's interests and abilities, and weave in te reo Māori and bicultural learning in age-appropriate ways to support identity, belonging, and confidence if this is something parents are open to. I am very familiar with the New Zealand Curriculum, and have a range of experiences involving children. My experiences include: • Holiday program / after-school care job (current) • Teacher Aide - at a school for students with additional learning needs (current) • Placements through University - Have done Years 1-6, includes students with additional learning needs. • Sport coaching (Netball) - children from Year's 6-9 (current/during winter season) I am qualified and confident in supporting children with a range of additional learning, mental, and physical needs or (dis)abilities including: • ASD • ADHD • Dyslexia • Dysgraphia • Dyscalculia • OCD • Anxiety • Down Syndrome • Pica • Global Developmental Delay • Epilepsy
