About Leah
I'm working to a minor degree in Spanish at Juniata College in central PA. I have led review sessions for Spanish 1 at my college for two semesters now, and I look forward to continuing. This past year, I was co-president of Spanish club.
I spent 4-weeks last summer in Orizaba, Mexico, studying at IDEA de Oriente. This past January, I spent a week in Managua, Nicaragua for a cultural learning tour. I will spend the Fall semester in Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador. If you have questions about studying abroad or traveling to these countries, I'd be happy to answer them!

Spanish is by far my favorite subject to teach. It's very easy to make fun and engaging for students. Mistakes are encouraged and grammar rules are complained about good-naturedly when it gets annoying. I guarantee you I've had the same thoughts!
A typical lesson is guided by my very own textbooks and university review sessions lesson plans, but it's far more than just memorizing vocabulary. I use review games and creative exercises with each lesson's concepts to avoid the brain-numbing repetition. I also like to break up the monotony by talking about quirky colloquial differences so you can know about how Spanish-speaking countries do things uniquely.
