Whether we’re working on Classical texts, philosophical concepts, or essay technique, my approach is centred around clarity, connection, and curiosity. What You Can Expect from a Typical Lesson: Quick Check-In: We begin with a brief catch-up to review progress, address any questions, and clarify goals for the session. Focused Learning: The core of the lesson is interactive and varied—this might include breaking down difficult texts, exploring key themes and arguments, or practising writing skills with immediate feedback. Discussion & Reflection: I encourage students to think aloud, ask questions, and explore ideas from different angles—particularly helpful in subjects like philosophy and literature. Practical Strategies: Every lesson ends with personalised guidance—revision techniques, planning frameworks, or next steps to build on what we’ve covered. Between Sessions: I’m always happy to provide optional extension tasks, reading recommendations, or email support if students want to keep up momentum between lessons. What sets my tutoring apart is the emphasis on understanding over memorisation and engagement over routine. I aim to help students become independent thinkers who don’t just meet their targets—they exceed them with confidence.
