About Shakti
I began tutoring chemistry by helping my brother, who initially struggled with the subject and didn’t enjoy science. I honestly wasn’t sure if he would be able to grasp the concepts, but with some patient guidance, he went on to score a grade 8 in his GCSE Chemistry exam. Hearing him say that I made the topics much easier to understand was a proud and motivating moment for me, and it inspired me to continue tutoring this subject. I truly believe that every student can achieve high grades in Chemistry. Often, it’s just about understanding the material clearly and learning how to approach exam questions effectively. When I was younger, I didn’t enjoy Chemistry much during years 7 and 8, but my attitude changed in year 9, and after that, I started consistently scoring in the high 90s. I’m confident that with the right support, you can reach your goals too. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing netball and love baking. I think it’s a great way for me to relax and stay creative.

I offer flexible 1 to 2 hour online lessons tailored for GCSE Chemistry students. The length of the lesson is based on the student's capacity to learn and how willing they are to go through content quickly if they have upcoming exams. My teaching focuses on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, manageable parts to ensure full understanding. I make lessons enjoyable and engaging by using real-life examples and interactive questions to keep students interested and motivated. Throughout the session, I regularly ask questions to check understanding and encourage active learning. After building a strong grasp of the topic, we move on to practising exam-style questions using past papers and targeted exercises focused on the areas we've covered. I also review your answers carefully, providing clear feedback on how to improve both content and exam technique. From my experience, Chemistry exam questions tend to be quite repetitive, so I have mastered effective strategies to answer them confidently and accurately. My goal is to help students not only understand the material but also enjoy learning and develop the skills needed to excel in their exams.
