About Rhys
I am a BA Philosophy graduate with a First Class Honours degree and an aspiring filmmaker with a background in reading art history, history, politics and philosophy. I have a wide range of expertises in the liberal arts and am confident in writing, editing and advising on long-form academic written pieces. This includes essay writing, persuasive writing and dissertations.
I also have ample experience training and leading new members of staff in my time employed at Zara Nottingham and volunteering at Oxfam bookshop
As a tutor, I seek to inspire my students to pursue their passions fully and explore their educational goals beyond simply obtaining grades - in the same way that important teachers in my life helped me to develop.

My lessons are tailored to the specific needs and goals of the students. I will use the first lesson to get to know a student, their strengths & weaknesses and any other potential accommodations they might need - with a long-term plan outlined at the end of the lesson which both the student and myself mutually agree on.
I have found from my experience with successful lecturers and from training new members of staff at my previous workplace that crafting bespoke lessons and learning material is the best approach for engaging a student and ensuring long-term educational success.
If I am working with a primary school or Key Stage 3 student for example, I might look to introduce short games and challenges into their lessons to get them excited right from the start. If I am working with a GCSE or A-Level student, I might instead seek to engage them with more fundamental principles to deepen their learning.
