About Christopher

Hello! My name is Christopher, and I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan with a degree in Economics. Alongside my academic work, I worked in the University of Michigan Admissions Office, which gave me firsthand insight into how college applications are evaluated and what makes essays effective.

I specialize in helping students with college application essays, academic writing, economics, and test preparation. My approach is focused on clarity, structure, and helping students build confidence in their own thinking and writing.

I scored in the 98th percentile on the ACT and bring a recent, practical understanding of both high school and college-level academic expectations. I earned admission to several top-30 universities and am confident in my abilities to generate success for future college applicants.

For the next few months before starting full-time work, I’m offering one-on-one tutoring sessions aimed at helping students improve both their immediate performance and long-term academic skills.

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s specific goals, whether that’s developing a college application essay, improving academic writing, or working through challenging economics or statistics material.

For essay coaching, we focus on brainstorming ideas, refining structure, and strengthening clarity and voice through guided discussion and revision. I help students figure out what they want to say and how to say it effectively, rather than imposing a formula or writing for them.

For economics, statistics, and other quantitative subjects, I emphasize step-by-step problem solving and conceptual understanding. We work through examples together, identify where confusion is coming from, and build the student’s ability to approach similar problems independently.

A typical session starts with identifying priorities for that day—such as an essay draft, homework set, or upcoming exam—and then working through targeted instruction and practice. I aim to make each session focused, efficient, and actionable so students leave with clear next steps.

The goal of every lesson is not just short-term improvement, but helping students become more confident and independent learners.
