About Melvin

I am a University of Melbourne graduate, holding a bachelor's in Biomedicine, majoring in microbiology and immunology, minoring in Genetics, and a Master's in Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. I have experience teaching from primary to college level students in sciences and mathematics.

About the lesson

I understand biology is especially difficult to get your head around (so much memorization!), so I focus on building a train of thought and the flow of logic, so that you will have something to backtrack to when you get confused! I can also help with exam prep (general exam strategies, types of questions, things that will give you marks, time management), along with hundreds of sample exam questions (up to Year 12 only)! I like to teach by providing examples, real-life or relatable analogies, or similar scenarios or questions. I believe in the different types of learning styles, and can mold my lessons to fit the student's learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). Cancellation Policy : (concealed information)

Perfect! Melvin is an excellent tutor- he has been great with communication, very reliable about setting up sessions and being very responsive to my specific Yr 12 Biology needs. He is very proactive about preparing for each session and finding the best resources to help each and then tailoring each session to meet my specific goals. He explains things really well and is great at teaching content and answering all my questions as well as helping me with my written work like Prac reports.
