About Snehi

Hi, I’m Snehi! I’m a friendly and approachable tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students feel more confident in subjects that they may initially find difficult.

I’ve previously worked at two tutoring centres, so I’ve had experience working with a wide range of ages, abilities and learning styles. I’ve learnt that there isn’t one way of teaching something — sometimes a topic just needs to be explained in a different way, and I really enjoy finding that approach that makes it finally “click” for a student!

I always try to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again. For me, tutoring isn’t just about getting the right answer; it’s about helping students understand why an answer is right and giving them the confidence to tackle things independently.

Outside of tutoring, I’m currently pursuing my own studies and I know first-hand that learning can sometimes feel overwhelming! I hope to make lessons enjoyable, encouraging and tailored to each student, while helping them make real progress along the way.

About the lesson

The subjects I currently teach:
Year 9 Science (Biology/Chemistry/Physics)
GCSE and A-Level Chemistry and Biology

My lessons are designed to be relaxed, supportive and tailored to each student. I like to start by understanding what the student already knows, what they are finding difficult and what they would like to improve, so that we can focus our time where it will be most useful.

What I realised helped me the most is active recall, therefore spending some time at the beginning of the lesson doing a quick-fire quiz to revisit topics from the previous lesson and ironing out anything the student did not understand.

I also like to make lessons more engaging rather than having students simply listen to me talk. Depending on the subject and student, this could include working through questions together, using examples, practising exam-style questions or breaking a difficult topic into smaller, more manageable steps.

Most importantly, I want students to leave each lesson feeling that they have made progress and are a little more confident than when they started!
