About Indigo
My time as an undergraduate at the University of Manchester, studying English Literature and American Studies, has given me a strong foundation in literary analysis, critical theory, historical context, and academic writing, all of which I bring into my tutoring sessions.
I have always enjoyed studying literature because it encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. I understand that English can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when preparing for high-pressure examinations such as GCSEs and A-Levels, so I aim to make texts more approachable and engaging. Attempting to help students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
I want to teach because I find it genuinely rewarding to help students reach their potential. Whether it's improving essay structure, building confidence in analysing poetry and prose, or preparing for exams, I enjoy seeing students make progress and realise that they are capable of achieving more than they initially believed.

I'm currently tutoring an A-Level student, helping him with his coursework, essay writing techniques, contextual knowledge, and structural understandings. Typically my lessons last 1 hour but I am open to changing the duration, as tailored to individual students. I am currently predicted to get a 1st for my English Literature degree, alongside an A* at A Level and an 8* in GCSE. My typical teaching methodology is to curate a calm and happy working environment, stressing encouragement and gentle approaches to learning! Focusing on step-by-step instructions, deep dives on knowledge, and curating personalised study guides to help with different types of learning.
