About Emilie
My name is Emilie, and I am from Strasbourg, France. I have lived in Ireland and the UK for the past 15 years and am now a university lecturer based in Edinburgh.
As a native French speaker who works and teaches in English, I understand the challenges of expressing yourself in another language. I would like to help adults feel more confident speaking French, whether for travel, work or pleasure.
My approach is friendly, patient, and encouraging, with conversations shaped around your interests.

I offer friendly, up to one-hour, French conversation sessions for adults who already know some French and would like to feel more confident speaking it.
Sessions are tailored to your interests and goals, whether you are preparing for a trip, using French at work, or simply enjoying learning the language. We can discuss everyday life, culture, current affairs or topics of your choice, with help on pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar as we go.
As a university lecturer, I have experience supporting learners and explaining ideas clearly. Sessions are available in Edinburgh or online, with plenty of encouragement and room to make mistakes.
