About Remley
Hi! My name is Remley, and I am currently a Psychology undergraduate student at the University of Kentucky with experience working as a tutor in social studies subjects including history, geography, civics, and psychology. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their academic abilities by creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. I plan to pursue a Master’s degree in Teaching in the future, and education has always been something I care deeply about. Through tutoring, I aim to make learning more approachable, organized, and less stressful for students while helping them develop long-term study skills and confidence in the classroom.
I pride myself on being patient, professional, adaptable, and understanding of different learning styles. Whether a student needs help understanding difficult material, preparing for exams, improving writing skills, or staying organized, I work to tailor lessons to their individual needs and goals!

My teaching style is flexible, patient, and personalized to each student’s learning style. I understand that every student processes information differently, so I focus on breaking concepts down in a way that feels approachable instead of overwhelming. I specialize in social studies subjects including history, geography, civics, and psychology, and I especially enjoy helping students connect ideas rather than simply memorize information.
During lessons, I primarily use Zoom and connect my iPad to teach visually in real time. This allows me to write notes, annotate documents, explain concepts step-by-step, create study guides, and work through assignments interactively with students. I find that visual learning and collaboration help students stay engaged and retain information more effectively.
A typical lesson may include reviewing class material, going over assignments or essays, studying for quizzes and exams, creating organizational strategies, practicing critical thinking skills, or simplifying difficult concepts into manageable pieces. I also help students improve note-taking, study habits, and confidence in their academic abilities.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my supportive and non-judgmental approach. As a psychology student, I understand how stress, anxiety, and learning differences can affect academic performance, so I strive to create a comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and learn at their own pace.
My lessons are best suited for middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students taking courses in history, geography, civics/government, psychology, and related social sciences.
