About Maria
I am half English half Russian, having grown up speaking both at home. I have an excellent streak of academic exam results from age 6 up to University.
I speak Russian at home with my mum, and am confident teaching speaking and listening and pronunciation to a high level. With writing however I am confident teaching the alphabet, words, sentences and basic reading. Converting the brain to read an entirely different alphabet is a monumental task to do from scratch, so it'll be a long process. I reckon I am confident to teach up to the reading abilities of approx. a 12-year-old Russian kid. Beyond that may be a little above my paygrade to be totally honest with you. My advantage is my repertoire of languages I can teach Russian from.
I moved to the Gold Coast from London 4 months ago, and am looking to pass on my language and exam skills to my students.
I have an open driver’s license, have my own car, and have a Blue Card working with children check, and have first aid courses and experience.

I offer in-person lessons on the Gold Coast, or virtual video call lessons. Lessons can be 1 to 2 hours in length, the first one being a free 30-minute consultation to determine the level of pre-existing language skills of my pupil, so I can formulate a plan for the period of learning we have in mind, or working towards specific goals or tests. I can help with preparation for AQF Certificates and Senior Secondary Certificate of Education. I work with any age group! My availability is very flexible and I can mold seamlessly into your schedule.
