About Kendel
I am a second-year student at the University of Florida studying Sport Management and Physics, and I am currently studying abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. My academic background combines analytical problem-solving with strong communication skills, allowing me to break down complex topics into concepts that are easier to understand.
Outside the classroom, I work as a baseball and softball umpire for high school, travel, and recreational leagues. Officiating has taught me how to communicate clearly, make decisions, trust myself, and work effectively with those around me. These experiences have strengthened my ability to teach patiently while adapting to the needs of different learners.
As a tutor, I focus on helping students develop genuine understanding rather than memorizing procedures, but above all my main goal is to help instill confidence in a student's ability to be the best person they can be.

As someone who struggled with traditional teaching methods in school, I understand that every student learns differently. My goal is to adapt my teaching style to fit each student's individual needs and learning preferences.
I believe that strong understanding comes from building a solid foundation and connecting concepts rather than simply memorizing information. At the beginning of a lesson, I focus on understanding what a student already knows, where they feel confident, and where they are experiencing difficulties. Identifying those gaps allows me to target the specific concepts that are preventing progress.
My teaching style is especially effective for students who are close to mastering a subject but are missing one or two key connections. By helping students bridge those gaps, I aim to build both understanding and confidence that spans beyond a single assignment or exam.

Kendel and I went to high school together and during my time there I could always count on him when it came to advice or help with any kind of school related material. I would highly recommend him for anyone that may be struggling with understanding their course work.
