About Anastasia
Hi! I know how daunting IB/A - level exams can be especially when you don't feel prepared. As a second- year Biomedical Sciences student at UCL, I've had exposure to many branches of biology so whether you're struggling in one area or across the board- I'm here to help ! Ultimately, my goal is to pursue a career in medicine with either a research or surgical focus. I graduated high school in Texas with 41 points in the IB taking HL Biology, Chemistry and English Literature.

Simply put my teaching methodologies vary by student. During tutorials, I like to follow the student's natural approach to learning because regardless of how much support I provide I will not be there during the hours of revision following tutorials. To begin, I learn each student's revision techniques to generate a revision strategy alongside personalized teaching. In working through the student's syllabus and then moving on to past papers, I aim to build a stronger foundation of knowledge.
In my experience, students memorize information but do not understand the basic concepts underlying this knowledge when asked to explain their understanding. Students who rely on memorization strategies often 'burn-out' because they must revise twice as much as the students who study smart. Following tutoring sessions, I hope to leave my students feeling confident in both their knowledge and understanding so they can answer questions beyond the textbook models - a vital skill when studying at university.
