About Arjun
I am a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge, having studied a Bachelors' and Masters' in Natural Sciences. Who has achieved 1st Class Honours in my Bachelors' and 2.1 Class Honours in my Masters'. I am taking some time off, before beginning a PhD at the University of Sydney in Organic Chemistry.
I have always been fascinated by the sciences, using that fascination to work hard and achieve excellent results. I hope to foster that same scientific interest in my students, to provide a platform to help them succeed.
Outside of academics, I am an avid cook and big rugby fan.

I studied Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at A-Level, achieving four A*'s. Before studying Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, taking modules in all four subjects. I achieved 1st Class Honours in my Bachelors', top 20 in my class, and 2.1 Class Honours in Masters'. This has given me a high level of expertise in all four subjects. I have previous tutoring experience through MyTutor and for family friends, covering GCSE, A-Level and pre-University courses.
All scientific and mathematical concepts are based on a small set of core principles. I believe teaching should begin with reinforcing a student's understanding of these core concepts. This aids their ability to problem solve and grasp new concepts with ease. From here their comprehension can be challenged through increasingly complex problems, building resilience to any challenges the syllabus may present. This is why I begin all lessons by talking through the concepts required for that day with the student, before setting questions to cement their learning. I believe this leads to a deeper understanding than just memorising a textbook. I mainly run 1 hour lessons, but am happy to go longer for more difficult topics.
I also believe an interdisciplinary approach to teaching Maths and Science is important at all levels. Large conceptual overlaps between these disciplines mean we can learn much about one by studying the others. So, for students covering multiple subjects I'm happy to cover more than one in a lesson, to highlight overlaps and compound understanding.
I cover both GCSE and A-Level through online lessons or face to face lesson in Stafford. I have an up-to-date DBS certificate.
