About Shayan

Hi there! My name is Shayan, and I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals in Maths. I believe that education is a powerful tool that can unlock doors and lead to a fulfilling life, and I am dedicated to helping my students reach their full potential. As an Educator and Cambridge Graduate, I have over 10 years of experience tutoring students of various ages and levels in Maths and Physics. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and I am committed to helping each of my students achieve their goals. About the lesson

As a tutor, I believe in tailoring my approach to the individual needs of each student. I begin by assessing their strengths and weaknesses and using this information to create a personalised plan that emphasises their specific areas of improvement. My teaching methodology is based on breaking down complex concepts into simpler, more manageable parts. I encourage my students to ask questions and make connections between different topics, which helps them develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I use a range of techniques, such as visual aids, practical examples, and problem-solving exercises, to engage students and make the subject more accessible. Typically, my lessons are around 1.5-2 hours in length, because I've found from experience that it is the right amount of time to go really in depth with a topic. However, I am flexible and can adapt to the needs of the student. I believe in creating a comfortable and relaxed learning environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes without fear of judgement. With over 10 years of experience working as a private tutor, I have worked with students of all ages and levels. I have a strong track record of helping students achieve their academic goals, whether that is improving their grades, preparing for exams or applying to universities. My qualifications and additional experiences include A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at A-levels, a Natural Sciences degree from the University of Cambridge, and experience working as a teacher and director of studies for a summer camp company. I have also won medals in Senior Maths & Physics Challenges and a Gold Award from the Royal Society of Chemistry for excellent achievement in their nationwide Cambridge Chemistry Challenge. Overall, my approach to tutoring is student-centred, personalised, and focused on developing a deep understanding of the subject matter. I am experienced in working with students of all ages and levels, and I use a range of techniques to engage and motivate them.
