About Ariana
Hi! I'm Ariana, a student at the University of Birmingham studying Liberal Arts and Natural Sciences. I major in Biology and am taking minors in Russian and International Relations. I love drumming, volunteering and jamming to all sorts of music. I'm both Spanish and Dutch, and have spent a lot of time in France which has allowed me to be trilingual. This makes me quite a good communicator (it's even helped me with my English despite it being my first language).

I firmly believe that students learn in a vast array of methods, so I quite like to experiment with students to find out what works best for them. I'm patient and creative, and I like to teach theories in context to the real world as I find it a helpful method of presenting all the GCSE and Sixth-form jargon.
If students find it hard to grasp a concept I will come up with an analogy in everyday life to place it into context and exemplify its pertinence. From demonstrating capillary action with a juice carton and straw to using multiple balloons to show how electrons are dispersed within an atom, there are few things that cannot be taught visually. As well as this creativity, I also strongly appreciate clear logical teaching methods, as they can often be digestible ways for students to simplify complex concepts.
I am open to teaching all secondary and first year sixth form students, including students with learning difficulties.
