About Josh
I'm a second-year Economics student at the University of Bath, having achieved A* in Economics and A grades in Mathematics and Physics at A-Level.
Having siblings has given me first-hand experience of tutoring, supporting my younger sister with her academic studies has developed my ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt my teaching to suit different learning styles.
Through my own exam experience, I've picked up a number of lesser-known techniques and exam strategies that many students overlook. I intend to share these with my students to help minimise avoidable errors and make the most of the marks available to them.
I understand the pressure of GCSE and A-Level exams, having been through them myself! I'm keen to help students approach their studies with confidence and achieve the grades they're capable of. My ultimate goal is for my students to open their results day letter with a huge grin on their face — knowing I've played a part in that moment would mean a great deal to me.

I focus on building real understanding, not memorisation — grounding theory through real-world examples and working through Maths problems with the student explaining the method, so I know it's actually landed. Closer to exams, I shift to past papers and mark schemes, targeting where marks are typically lost. If a student has a particular way they study best, I'll adapt my approach to suit them.
Lesson Length
1 hour standard; 1.5 hours during exam preparation for full past-paper practice.
Qualifications
A* Economics, A Mathematics, A Physics (A-Level). Currently studying Economics (BSc Hons, Placement Year) at the University of Bath.
Who I Teach
GCSE and A-Level students in Maths (AQA, Edexcel, OCR) and Economics (AQA) — particularly those aiming for top grades or considering Economics/Finance degrees.
