About Sadie
Kia Orana, I’m Sadie, a University of Auckland conjoint student in Law and Global Studies, offering English and reading tutoring for primary and NCEA Level 1 students.
I specialize in building strong foundational skills while helping students gain confidence and clarity in their learning. My approach is structured, patient, and tailored to each student, with a focus on improving reading comprehension, writing skills, and overall academic confidence.
I became a tutor because I understand how stressful school can feel, and I want to help students feel supported, capable, and more in control of their learning.
My goal is to create steady improvement while also reducing anxiety around schoolwork and assessments.

I provide structured yet supportive tutoring in English and reading, with a focus on building strong foundational skills, confidence, and independent thinking. I take the time to understand each student’s learning style and adapt my teaching so concepts are explained clearly and reinforced through guided practice, reading comprehension work, and writing support.
My lessons are typically 60 minutes long, allowing enough time to cover material thoroughly while keeping students engaged. I can also adjust lesson length depending on individual needs.
I am a conjoint student at the University of Auckland studying Law and Global Studies, and I have prior experience peer tutoring at school. This has given me a strong understanding of how to explain concepts in a simple, patient, and effective way.
I work with primary school students through to NCEA Level 1 and below, supporting improvement in reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, and general English skills.
I offer flexible arrangements and can travel to students or meet at a convenient local location in Nelson during university breaks.
