About Vivian

Hi! I’m 28 years old, and I genuinely enjoy working with kids and helping them feel more confident in school. I’m patient, encouraging, and easy to talk to, and I try to create a comfortable environment where students never feel embarrassed for asking questions or making mistakes.

I especially enjoy helping students with math because I know how frustrating it can feel when a concept does not immediately make sense. My goal is to make learning feel less intimidating and more approachable by explaining things clearly, breaking problems down step by step, and adapting to each student’s individual pace.

I’m responsible, dependable, and attentive, and I care about more than just getting the right answer. I want students to actually understand what they are learning and leave each lesson feeling more capable and confident than when they started.

Whether a student needs help catching up, completing homework, preparing for a test, or simply building stronger math skills, I’m happy to meet them where they are and help them improve.

About the lesson

My approach as a math tutor is to make difficult concepts feel clear, logical, and manageable. I focus on helping students understand why a method works instead of simply memorizing formulas or steps. I break problems into smaller pieces, explain concepts in different ways when needed, and use guided practice so students gradually become confident solving problems independently.

A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what the student is currently learning and any areas they are struggling with. I then explain the key concept, work through a few examples step by step, and have the student solve similar problems with my guidance. As they improve, I reduce the amount of help I provide so they learn how to approach problems on their own. We finish by reviewing common mistakes, useful shortcuts, and the main ideas to remember.

What sets me apart is my patience and ability to explain math in straightforward language. I pay attention to exactly where a student becomes confused rather than repeating the same explanation. I adapt my teaching style to the student's pace and learning style, whether they need a stronger foundation, homework support, test preparation, or more challenging material.

My lessons are suitable for elementary, middle school, and high school students, including students studying arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and other foundational math subjects. Lessons can be tailored to a student's specific class, homework, upcoming exams, or individual learning goals.
