About Beck
Hello!
I am Beck and I am really looking forward to tutoring you!
I have worked as a Teaching Assistant supporting children from year 3 up to year 6 and I really enjoy it. My time in a school has encouraged me to continue teaching and allowed me to develop the skills from my psychology degree into a meaningful set of skills that can be used to support you, even when things are feeling really challenging.
I have
5 GCSEs grade 6 and above - including English, Maths and Science
3 A-levels in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry - grades B,C,D
I am currently in my 4th year of a clinical psychology degree.

A typical lesson will last around an hour. This will consist of online resources, such as Times Table Rock Stars or 1 minute maths alongside review of methodology using a range of techniques that encourage the child to think more deeply about the topic or problem. I strongly encourage the child to be actively involved in the lessons to ensure understanding and consistent engagement.
My previous experience comes largely from my time in an infant and junior school in which I delivered tailored interventions and in-classroom support for children struggling with academic attainment.
These lessons are aimed towards ages 7 - 11 (year 3 - 6).
