About Kelsey
I decided to become a tutor after realising that I wanted a career involving the welfare of children, such as social work. Tutoring is a way for me to support young people academically whilst also allowing me to continually understand the stresses and challenges that they face.
As a second-year university student, I recognise (and remember all too well) the not-so-distant struggles of being at secondary school, where you are surrounded by hundreds of people on a daily basis. Whilst I am wholeheartedly grateful for my educational experience, I hope that, as an online tutor, I can give young people that extra boost to help them discover who they are and where their passions lie.

My lessons are taught with a bone structure compromising of:
- Title and clear aim
- Discussing an existing example
- Planning and writing our own example
- Reflecting on this
Lessons last 60 minutes, but 1 topic can be studied over several sessions to allow for a genuine and thorough understanding. With my year of tutoring, I've learnt that everyone works differently and so delivery methods vary between students (and even lessons), so presenting the students with options and seeing what they prefer to do seems to work best!
Most importantly, my lessons serve to boost the confidence of the student, both through their academic understanding and also their communicative abilities. People thrive when in a comfortable, welcoming environment.
