About Fairoz Maliha
I am a friendly, patient and dedicated tutor with experience providing paid private tutoring across a wide range of school subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Literature, History, Geography, Bengali and Art.
I am currently studying BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science at the University of Surrey, having previously studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at A Level. My broad academic background allows me to support students across different subjects while adapting my teaching to their individual needs and abilities.
I believe that effective tutoring is about more than simply giving students answers. I focus on helping students understand concepts, build confidence and develop independent learning skills. I explain challenging topics step-by-step, encourage questions, and use practice questions and interactive activities to make lessons engaging and productive.
Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for exams, strengthening their foundations or simply becoming more confident in a subject, I aim to create a supportive, encouraging and professional learning environment where they can make steady progress.
I work with students from younger school years through to GCSE and A-Level level, depending on the subject and their individual requirements.

My Approach to Tutoring
I believe students learn best when they genuinely understand a topic rather than simply memorising information. My approach is patient, structured and adaptable, with lessons tailored to each student’s current level, learning style and goals.
I usually begin by identifying the student’s strengths and areas that need improvement. I then break topics into smaller, easier-to-understand sections and explain them using clear examples, diagrams, discussion and practical applications. I encourage students to ask questions throughout the lesson and regularly use practice exercises, quizzes and exam-style questions to check their understanding.
For subjects such as Biology and other sciences, I focus on building a strong conceptual foundation before moving on to exam technique. For subjects such as English Literature, History and Geography, I focus on understanding, analysis, developing arguments and communicating ideas clearly. I can also adapt lessons for creative subjects such as Art.

# Typical Lesson Length
My typical lesson is 1 hour, although I can adjust the length depending on the student’s age, subject and individual requirements.
# My Qualifications and Tutoring Experience
I am currently studying BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science at the University of Surrey, following completion of a Life Sciences International Foundation Year. I have studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics at A Level and achieved IELTS UKVI 8.0.
I also have paid private tutoring experience, teaching students across a wide range of subjects. My tutoring has included Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Bengali/Bangla, History, Geography, Literature and Art, as well as other school subjects depending on the student’s needs.
Through this experience, I have worked with students with different abilities and learning preferences, adapting my explanations and teaching methods accordingly. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and gradually becoming more independent learners.

I offer lessons primarily for school-age students, from younger learners through to GCSE and A-Level students, depending on the subject.
