About Ella
I am currently a student myself, at undergraduate level and I understand from personal experience how stressful it can be to have so much content to get through all on your own, especially if you're not feeling super confident. I think I would really have benefited from having one person who was consistently available for support who understood my stress, and so I want to be able to offer that to other people. I also understand the frustration that can come with trying to follow other people's advice when it's not quite right for you, which is why I am more than prepared to spend however long is necessary working together to figure out the most effective techniques. I am compassionate, patient and adaptable - I will take all of your needs into account and will let you take direction in terms of what you want to get out of your sessions.

I tend to take a student-focused approach - I understand that everyone learns differently and therefore each student needs a tailored approach to maximise their retention and skill development. I spent a long time in school doing trial and error for my study techniques and so I have a high variety of methods in my arsenal that I am prepared to alter for individual needs. I spent a month in Sri Lanka teaching English comprehension and grammar to children aged 5 - 10 and I spent a lot of time with my sister when she was 16 helping her prepare for her English GCSE. I feel confident that I could support a child in English from primary school level spelling and grammar up to GCSE preparation. I am available for 1-2 hour sessions up to 4 times a week.
