About Shayan

Hello! My name is Shay, and I’m passionate about helping students understand and enjoy History, Politics, and Economics. I believe these subjects are not just about memorising facts—they’re about understanding the forces that shape our world, thinking critically, and developing the skills to argue and analyse effectively. I have strong academic experience in these subjects, having explored topics from political theory and global conflicts to economic systems and historical change. Beyond academics, I’ve gained practical insight through debating, volunteering, and research projects, which allows me to bring real-world context into our lessons. I enjoy teaching because I love seeing students grow in confidence and curiosity. My lessons are tailored to your individual needs, focusing on understanding, critical thinking, and exam technique. I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping you achieve your goals while making learning engaging and meaningful. Alongside academics, I am very interested in music and sports, particularly cricket and football. Whether you want to improve your grades, master essay writing, or deepen your understanding of the world, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

About the lesson

I offer engaging and tailored tutoring in History, Politics, and Economics for students at GCSE and A-Level. My lessons are designed to make complex ideas accessible, build critical thinking, and help students excel in exams and coursework. I focus on active learning, encouraging students to discuss, debate, and question concepts rather than just memorise facts. Lessons combine clear explanations, structured notes, and real-world examples to make abstract theories tangible. I help students develop strong essay-writing skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to make connections across topics. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, using past papers, discussions, and interactive exercises. Typical lessons are 60–90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. Sessions include a mix of explanation, guided practice, discussion, and feedback. I have a strong academic background in History, Politics, and Economics, with extensive independent research experience, and practical experience in political analysis and research through volunteering, debating, and academic projects.
