About Javara

I'm a student at the university of Otago studying Ecology and Geography, I compete in Powerlifting and have a lot to do with Surf Lifesaving. I find that I enjoy teaching and sharing knowledge with others, I've done tutoring programs before as a tutor and as a student. These forms of programmes genuinely assist with student achievement.

About the lesson

I bring a diverse set of instructional skills from my experiences in sports, academia, and my role as a swim teacher for the DCC. I've taught a mix of adults and children, with swimming primarily focused on kids, though I'm also available to teach adults. Additionally, I've provided lifeguarding & first aid lessons to all ages.

As a tutor specializing in geography and other sciences, I offer sessions that typically range from 50 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. My approach emphasizes a comfortable, low-stimulus environment, which I believe is crucial for skill development. I advocate for repetition and practical application as the most effective methods to build confidence and mastery in any subject. Each session includes brief intermissions, with post-tutoring work to reinforce learning.
