About Samuel
I am a firm believer in the utmost respect for fellow learners, and I truly hope to benefit students by helping them enjoy their accomplishments and encouraging them to complete their goals. I am extremely serious about my own academic future, as demonstrated by my record, and of the academic future of others. As a Finance student, I understand the necessity of professional interactions and mutual trust between tutor and student.

I have experience being tutored myself and also leading classes for fellow peers during high school. As a counselor, I realized the needed skill of being able to simplify topics to a level of understanding fit for the age or experience level of the person and to interpret the issues they presented. A tutor-student relationship requires input from both parties to really create a connection. First, I think identifying problems from broad to more specific narrows down the pool of meaningful solutions (study habits, subject, individual concepts, etc.). Second, identifying the best techniques to study based on the person is important. Without this, identifying the difficult topics they struggle with means little. Third, cultivating discipline in studying habits as well as passion for the topic outside of homework are key. I think what sets me apart is my personal academic struggles. I don't believe I have a natural aptitude for learning or even my chosen field, yet I have been able to succeed in school because of a strong work ethic, dedication to regular studying, and awareness of how I am best able to learn in spite of myself. I hope this encourages you to offer your best effort too and reap the rewards from it. I hope to teach freshman or sophomore college students in beginner level finance, economics, or business/international business courses (possibly high school seniors). Thank you.
