About Sara
Outside of academia, I am extremely passionate about music and philosophy. I have spent seven years training on the piano and in other areas of the musical category. I minor in philosophy and spend much of my time reading up on new imaginative theories and formulated philosophies. I also love spending time with my sweet kitten, Angel, and watching movies!
I spend a lot of my time reading, and coming up with new plans to help my students.

If I had to describe my teaching philosophy and style, I would say that I strive to make the academic setting a comfortable and safe atmosphere for all students. Learning can be complex and not everyone is accustomed to learning in the same ways, so I want to make sure all students feel vulnerable enough to ask questions and feel free to grow as independent thinkers. I have volunteered in a school setting multiple times, and I love working with children. I am strongly passionate about education and creating valuable experiences when it comes to learning.
A typical lesson consists of asking students what they feel they need the most help with and working from there. I find that when you automatically assume that a student is struggling, it can be discouraging, so I prefer to work through their struggles as a team.
