About Mat
I want to teach because I think a good teacher is one of the most important things in someone's education and development. It often takes someone believing in another's skills for them to succeed, it is the reason I was successful in my education and I want to give that back to other people.

I want my students to want to learn, I want them to be able to see the value and beauty in learning maths, if they can understand what is going on, maths becomes far more enjoyable.
I explain why formulas work and the reasoning behind them, with the goal that they don't have to rely on rote learning because they understand the logic and problem solving behind the formulas. My teaching is very student led, we will focus on what they feel they need to improve on, but I also won't move on from a topic until I'm convinced that they understand and are equipped to continue the problems independently.
