About Rishab

I am a student at UIUC studying Finance and Data Science which combines my interests in the world of business and finance as well as my love for technology. I have been tutoring students since I've been in high school and I have a younger sister who I've been tutoring my whole life!

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is simple: clarity first, confidence second, mastery third.

I focus on:

Breaking complex concepts into simple, logical steps

Teaching the “why” behind formulas and methods — not just memorization

Active recall and practice-based learning

Real-world applications (especially in math, economics, and business subjects)

I adapt my approach depending on the student:

If they’re struggling → we rebuild foundations.

If they’re strong but aiming for top grades → we focus on exam strategy and advanced problem-solving.

If they lack confidence → we prioritize small wins and structured progress.

Because I’ve personally gone from struggling in math to achieving top grades through disciplined practice, I understand how to help students who feel “stuck.”

A Typical Lesson Plan

1. Quick Diagnostic (5–10 minutes)
Review homework or identify where confusion exists.

2. Concept Clarification (15–20 minutes)
Explain the concept clearly using examples and visual breakdowns.

3. Guided Practice (15–20 minutes)
We solve problems together step-by-step.

4. Independent Practice (10–15 minutes)
Student solves a few problems independently while I observe and correct mistakes in real time.

5. Recap + Strategy Tips (5 minutes)
Summarize key takeaways and assign targeted practice.
