About Poppy
I am a student fresh out of school after completing my A-levels where I achieved three A*'s in Psychology, Philosophy, and Art History. I also achieved seven A*'s and two A's in my GCSE'S. Next academic year, I am attending the University of Edinburgh, where I will be studying Psychology and Sociology. I will also be taking extra modules in Spanish and History of Art. As a student myself, I feel that I have a unique perspective on learning and hugely empathise with the time and energy that can get put into revision- however, my learning ethos is to 'work smarter, not harder'- I can help the student get the maximum output with simple effective tools which take much less time and energy than using one method of learning which is not long-term.

I have experience working in primary schools where I have helped young children with their reading and writing skills. As a student myself, I understand that there is no one way to learning-it is completely unique to each student and I will use a variety of different techniques to fit the requirements of each student that I teach, while making lessons fun and interactive. I will push the student to interact with me and act more as a classmate that is learning with the student, rather than a lecturer that speaks at them. I will work for however long or short is required for the specific needs of the student, however I typically work for no less than 45 minutes or an hour. My target client would be a GCSE or A-Level student. I am prepared to guide in essay-writing practice, aid with creating efficient revision notes, or simply teach from the specification in a simplified way that works for the individual.
