About Jenna

I believe that all students are capable and talented young minds. Though, sometimes they just need help and guidance to realize their potential. I aim to assist your child in being the best learner they can be and having pride and confidence in their own abilities. I’m open to tutoring all students K-12. I have 3 years tutoring experience with students in grades 1-5. I also have 4 years of assistant teaching experience with students in grades pre-k - 6th.

About the lesson

My name is Jenna Harley. I’m a senior with a major in education from SUNY Oneonta and I’m currently looking for students to take on tutoring while I student teach!! A typical lesson would include a quick review of what was covered in the given subject during the school day. This would be an opportunity for myself and the student to discuss any questions they had about the lesson or any clarifications they need. This also serves as a form of preassessment to see where the student was at. From there, the student and I would do their homework or an activity relating to the area being worked on in a gradual release of responsibility format also known as "I do, we do, you do". We can explore different ways of going about getting answers and looking at problems if one method does not work for the student. I will keep a log of what methods seem to work the best for my own and parent use.
