About Elia

¡Hola! My name is Elia, and I'm a native Spanish speaker with a Master's degree in Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance from San Diego State University.

I grew up on the U.S.–Mexico border between San Diego and Tijuana, where I was in connection between both languages and cultures. I also lived in Madrid, Spain, where I taught English.

Travel and experiencing cultures is one of my passions. I have a keen interest in international finance, Spanish literature—especially the works of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and Carlos Fuentes—and personal growth. I listen to music in Spanish mostly - hopefully we can connect!
