About Jessica
I have been tutoring for six years for people of all ages, ranging from elementary school to adulthood. In addition, I have spent the past 1.5 years as a teaching assistant at UIUC. My students have historically seen increases in both their academic abilities as well as their confidence in the material. In addition to my experience tutoring, I have a Bachelor's degree in physics from the California Institute of Technology, and I am currently working towards my PhD in experimental nuclear physics.

I work with my students towards a true understanding of the topic rather than just the memorization of a process or an equation. Upon sitting down with my students, I ask them about what they learned since our last session and what is confusing them, if anything specific. I then work to go over the topic piece by piece, connecting everything together in a way the student understands. Time permitting, I set up practice problems for the student to do either individually or with me. My lessons are for and I have experience tutoring elementary school through undergraduate.
